This week's lectures on operating systems and utility programs were fairly clear. I am familiar with many of the system tools used today. I checked out the virus bulletin website, http://www.virusbtn.com/index. This was very interesting to read about the different virus software on the market and how they compare with each other. I have often wondered what makes one product better than another. I figured that the free ones were probably not very good, but to my surprise they stood up pretty well with the test results. AVG is one that I have been using and it performed quite well.
I just completed my taxes, and I am glad that it is over. Just another something to mark off my "to do" list. One cool thing is that when I purchased my tax software, there were several promotions offering free software programs along with a tax software purchase. Some of the programs were anti-virus programs and spyware programs. I also purchased a program that allows me to morph photos. I have not loaded this one yet, but it should be interesting to play around with.
