Week 4:Clear

Here we are at week 4 and it seems as though there is quite a bit of information being presented. Application software and multimedia have been explained rather clearly. The lectures are interesting. I have been watching lectures on my computer and also on my Ipod.

The multimedia lectures were very informative. The types of audio and video files are were familiar to me by name, but I did not realize how they differed from one another.

-WAV and AIFF files are not compressed.

-WMA and MP3 are.

I imagine that I will pay more attention to files as I download and view them to see if I can distinguish between download times and quality.

The lectures on video should become helpful to me, Just this past weekend, my television stopped working. All I see is a thin white line in the center of the screen. I called a couple of repair shops and they said that it is a bad vertical deflector. It would be between $200 and $300 to repair. I agree with the repair man that it is not worth fixing. I guess it is time to look into an LCD. Hmm! 1080p or 720p? There definitely is a difference in price. I guess you pay more for higher resolution. That makes sense! So now when the salesman starts getting all technical with me, I'll be able to follow what he is saying.
